On Tuesday, Obama held a meeting with key Democratic Senators and they “agreed they should give Republicans only until mid-September to get behind the plan.”
However, at the same meeting, President Obama said that Senate Democrats should keep working with their Republican counterparts as best they can to get a bipartisan health care reform bill passed.
In addition, Obama, “vowed to respond to Republican attacks on his plan, which aims to guarantee insurance for all Americans while slowing the explosive growth of health costs.”
2 Posted by MARC at 08/30/09 04:45 PMThis is quite reminiscent of the stance taken by George Bush after his re-election in 2004, when he said he won the political capital to accomplish his objectives. He was lambasted as a result. Why then are Obama & Congress justified to "give Republicans only until mid-September to get behind the plan?" The American people want only THE RIGHT LEGISLATION, not something forced in advance of midterm elections to help the cause of politicans seeking re-election. Again, they are trying to ram healthcare reform of their desire down our throats as rapidly as possible, not the right legislation in the right timing. Those seeking re-election may have a rude awakening.

I'm to consider buying products based on CU data? I risked my life in Korea fighting the likes of your organization. They were properly called Communists. Your support for a health care system run by a Socialist government ( Obama et al ) has cost you my subscription and as many others as I can influence among family and friends.---- Good Day.
